What we do
Blitz Media & Events is a boutique Communications agency specializing in media relations (PR), social media, and event management. We are a small team with incredible clients and partners. Known for our hard work ethic, real time results, and strategic solutions we are looking for a new manager to join our team. Clients include a variety of industries including agriculture, lifestyle, food and beverage, design and development and reside worldwide and include Vancouver, Okanagan, Seattle, and Chile.
What you do... really well!
As the Communications Account Manager you not only handle high-level strategy, you also lead execution and support the Director with client management. This is a very hands on role where you not only lead but you handle a majority of the day to day work – releases, pitching, social media ad management etc. Support provided by the Blitz Media & Events team which includes a Communications Coordinator, Director and Account Manager. Daily tasks include:
Create, manage and execute PR strategy for clients
Pitching local and national media outlets
Secure media coverage for a variety of clients
Media training for client spokespersons
Influencer management both paid and earned partnerships
Coordination with wire distributor service
Press release writing and distribution
Monthly and weekly measurement reports
Create and coordinate media drops including sourcing materials, managing courier and all logistics
Work with clients to strategize and execute successful social media marketing campaigns including paid ad campaigns for the purpose of driving traffic and conversions
Manage administrative and campaign work and ensure client goals achieved
Meeting and liaising with clients to understand and meet communications goals
Maintain regular communication with the assigned clients
Grow social media audiences, and build brand engagement
Manage day-to-day advertising expenditures and reports
Maintain a consistent company voice and brand on behalf of clients
Monitoring of social media accounts
Work with internal departments to research and develop campaigns based on KPI driven strategies
Monitor and prepare reports to update internal staff on Social Media usage stats and metrics
Research and implement new social media technology as necessary (hello Snapchat!)
Skills & Experience
Past experience in pitching, media management and social media
Past experience managing clients
Knowledge of media outlets and reporters locally and nationally
Enhanced knowledge of social media, & associated marketing strategies
Social media ad management and knowledge
Basic knowledge of Indesign, photoshop, or other photo management software
Most Importantly, hard working, reliable, and knowledge of the Communications world outside of Samantha from Sex and City!
This is a 1-year contract position to start August 2016, with an option to continue past August 2017 after performance evaluation.
Flexible work space
Must have car and ability to travel for client meetings (Vancouver predominantly)
